Description: Aquaworld Aquarium has been in Hersonissos since 1995 and is definitely on the must-do list. Entrance only costs 6 Euro for adults and 4 Euro for children. Even better, you then get a membership card which allows you to visit as many times as you (or the children) wish without paying again that year! Aquaworld specializes in showing local sea life and reptiles, although there are a few snakes and lizards from other countries. Most impressive are the giant pythons, Naga and Raja, along with Blondie the African tortoise and a host of other wonderful animals to delight those of all ages. What makes Aquaworld different, however, is the fact that most of those on show are rescued or injured animals which now have a caring home in this little aquarium. The staff at Aquaworld are very well informed and are happy to share their knowledge with anyone who's interested. Photography is allowed (no flash with the octopus, however) and you can pose with a variety of snakes, lizards and tortoises. Great value, great fun and educational as well. What more can you ask for?
